Oral surgery is considered the most invasive procedure in the field of dentistry. As such, it is in this particular field that the patient is most atrisk of complications arising from treatment. SUrgery is also regarded as the final recourse when other modalities of treatment fail.
It is therefore improbable that wecan reverse the effects of a surgical procedure. It is often said that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. this tenet cannot be more true than in case of surgery. It becomes imperative that proper evaluation of patient be undertaken prior to performing oral surgical procedure.
